About the Artists

Dan Beck is a master signature member of the American Impressionist Society. He is the Gold Medal recipient of the 2017 Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Exhibition and the Gold Medal winner of the 2011 Oil Painters of America National Exhibition. Other awards include nine excellence awards from Oil Painters of America and five from the American Impressionist Society. He has also won two consecutive Raymar Art Competition Awards of Excellence and an Award of Excellence with Salon International. Beck has had feature articles in "Fine Art Connoisseur", "American Art Collector", "Southwest Art", "American Artist", "Art of the West", "Artists on Art", "Cape Fear Living", and "Art Talk". In 2021, he was ranked 10th amongst 5,903 award-winning artists for the previous 13-year period. Beck has been invited to many nationally prominent shows such as "American Art Invitational", "American Art in Miniature", and "Great American Figurative Show" and has exhibited in galleries across the country. Collectors have found his paintings in both the private and corporate worlds on both national and international levels.

Richard Oversmith received formal Fine Art and Illustration training at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While at Kendall, he was invited to study at the Royal College of Art in London, England. There, he gained experience in plein-air painting and found direction in his work as an oil painter. He graduated from Kendall College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995 and moved back to his home state of North Carolina to pursue his dream of becoming a professional artist. Oversmith's purpose in painting is to provoke the viewer to interact with his pieces. His paintings are his voice, and stroke by stroke, he composes a whole that relates to his vision. Working in oil on linen, a medium compatible with his passion for his creation, Oversmith strives to achieve a mood in every painting through color, edges, value and drawing. He has derived his style from the lifelong study of past masters, the influence of contemporary painters he admires, and elements that have evolved from deep within himself. He allows the setting to speak to him, creating only as many brushstrokes as are needed for the viewer's eyes to understand and connect.

Jove Wang: Jove Wang was born in Jilin, China in 1962. At the tender age of seven, he apprenticed with the master painter Gang Gu, subsequently studying at the Jilin School of Art for three years and graduating in 1982. He was accepted into China's most prestigious art institute, the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now known as the China Academy of Art), and graduated as an honor student in 1988. He also received professional training from the Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts. In 1990, he immigrated to the United States, where he soon met with success. Immersing himself in studying and exploring old Masters, he has established a career that has garnered him national recognition.

Art lovers will also have a chance to see the works (which have not yet sold) of these featured artists at Beck Fine Art Gallery during regular business hours after this one day event. For more information about the artists, visit Beck Fine Art.
