WE'RE BRUNCHING

Indulge in the marriage of breakfast and lunch in the Port City. Whether it's a meal with mom, celebrating with girlfriends, or recovering from a rowdy Saturday night, it's easy to make a case for brunch. You can see syrup spill over pillowy pancakes. Hear crackles of bacon — clinks of cocktail glasses. Feel the steam rising off well-made omelets and the warmth of pleasant conversation. But brunch isn't the same everywhere. Some, like The Green House, CAM Cafe, The Kitchen Sink, Seabird, Blueberry's Grill, Henry's, and The Famous Toastery, pull off the replenishing weekend ceremony better than most.

What makes brunch at The Green House unique?

The Sunday brunch at the Green House restaurant is a farm-to-table, plant-based experience in a more relaxed atmosphere. Each Sunday you're greeted by the enticing scents of just-out-of-the-oven bread and freshly brewed coffee.

Two must eat items on the brunch menu.

Two standout items to tantalize your taste buds are buttery biscuits with savory lentil sausage and gravy,  and delectable oatmeal pancakes adorned with fresh fruit, drizzled with sorghum, and topped with whipped butter.

3 key elements to a great brunch?

An ideal brunch encompasses a nourishing meal, a fun beverage, and delightful company.

Signature brunch cocktail.

Whether it's a steaming hot beverage or a refreshing cocktail, caffeine is a staple in all our winter brunch favorites. Among these, two stand out as our specialties: the aromatic lavender vanilla coffee with oat milk and a complex yet balanced coffee cocktail featuring caramel Crown Royal. As the temperatures rise in summer, refreshing and invigorating Frosé and Passion fruit tequila sunrise take centre stage.

What makes brunch at Seabird unique?

Brunch at Seabird is a great way to get a taste of Wilmington and our amazing coast. It can be a comforting, soul-satisfying brunch with fried chicken biscuits and seasonal Counter Culture Coffees, or a more adventurous culinary experience with our seafood tower and sparkling wines. And we’re ALWAYS a destination for NC oysters!

Must eat items on the brunch menu.

Since it’s a more casual service, we like to offer a really delicious fried fish sandwich. It could be with shrimp or the latest fresh catch. Right now, it’s a Snowy Grouper that we serve with a crispy shaved fennel slaw, tangy Sauce Gribiche and house made pickled. And of course, fries made-to-order on the side!

We have a lot of fans for our Seabird take on the classic Eggs Benedict. We serve ours with a house smoked fish and caviar hollandaise. The runny yolks of the poach eggs mix with this bright lemony and briny sauce, and we serve it with shaved green tomatoes & dill. Ask for the Smoked Sturgeon Benedict and you’ll realize you’re having Sturgeon on Sturgeon – a perfect way to experience our local, sustainable seafood focus at Seabird.

We’re having fun with caviar, even offering it on our creamy deviled eggs at brunch. So fun to start the day with these and an affordable grower’s champagne!

And many may not realize we have a killer burger on our brunch menu! We use local Brasstown Beef and serve it on a sesame bun, with pimento cheese, crispy onions, avocado and comeback sauce. It’s served with fries, and has become a fan favorite.

Our pancakes have a note of sweetness. They’re so fluffy, and made-to-order! Just like everything on our menu, they reflect the season. Right now they’re served with winter citrus, toasted hazelnuts and butter. They’re sweet and salty and you might need an order for the table to share!

Our Brownie Trifle is so loved that we serve it at brunch and dinner. It’s a classic, served with a delicious warm and gooey, rich chocolate brownie, a custardy banana cream, candied pecans and bruleed bananas. It’s a crowd pleaser, for sure!

3 key elements to a great brunch?

Excellent coffee… warm, friendly and timely service… and a beautiful space that lets the light flood in! We’re grateful to have a dining room that’s just as beautiful for weekend brunch as it is when its dimly lit in the evenings.

Signature brunch cocktail.

Our Bloody Mary is house made, of course, and comes with a taste of our coast too – NC shrimp and pickled okra. Our guests love all of our spritzes, and seasonally changing mimosas, and there are always a lot of Espresso Martinis… and we make ours with Counter Culture Coffee, kahlua, tito’s and mole for a more complex flavor!
