For our 3rd Annual Exhibition, we are looking for the best photographs and photographers that capture our beautiful Coastal Cape Fear Region,
from Topsail Beach to Bald Head Island.
Open to professional and amateur photographers.
The awards & exhibition celebrate the very best in
Cape Fear Living. Since our first competition, we have gained a reputation for exhibiting photography of a high level of excellence, while promoting our community of talented photographers and providing them with exposure to further promote their own work.

How to Enter
Entering is easy:
1. Complete the registration form.
2. Pay the $25 entry fee.
3. Upload your 3 photos.

Fees
The non-refundable submission fee is $25 is for 3 digital images per entry. There is no limit to the number of images you may enter,
but you cannot change or remove images once they're submitted.

Who Can Enter?
Cape Fear Living Photographer of the Year is open to professional and amateur photographers anywhere. The photographs entered must depict the Coastal Cape Fear Region and showcase, "Capturing Coastal Carolina Charm."

Categories
There are 4 categories:
Landscape: From sunrise to sunset, enter your spectacular captures of beaches, forests, birdlife, wildlife, cityscapes & drone footage.
Portrait: Showcase the faces of our region. It may be a spontaneous moment or a more traditional formal portrait.
Weddings: As one of the Top wedding destinations, we want to see your beautiful and captivating photographs.
NEW: LIFE ON WATER: Send us your work reflecting life on our waterways: Surfing, Kite Surfing, Sailing & Boating, Paddle Boarding, Kayaking and Diving. This year we will also be showcasing this category in a separate Exhibition & Event. The details will be announced in the coming weeks.

What is the deadline for the contest?
The competition closes on 5 May 2024 at midnight.
​
How are winners chosen?
Winning photographs will be selected by a panel of jurors, including Photographer Matt Ray, Photographer T.J. Drechsel and, Editor in Chief & Photographer Colleen Thompson, and a panel of our sponsors.
Photographs are judged blind and jurors do not see the names of the photographer. Jurying is a selective process. Please understand that not all who submit their work will be selected for exhibition in either gallery.
An overall winning photographer will be chosen and crowned: The 2024 Cape Fear Living Photographer of the Year.
Two Honorable Mentions will also be awarded.
Winners will also be chosen in each category.
Honorable Mentions will be awarded to 2 photographs/photographers in each category.
60 Photographs will be selected for an in person exhibition at End of Days Distillery, Wilmington, NC (date to be announced).
Photographs will be also be exhibited permanently in our online gallery.

Prizes
The 2024 Cape Fear Living Photographer of the Year will receive the following:

The title: "2024 Cape Fear Living Photographer of the Year."

$500 in cash.

The winning photographer will headline our homepage in the month of May, 2024.

A feature story and interview with the winning photographer for Cape Fear Living.

A Press Release announcing the winning photographer and showcasing the winning photograph.

By submitting images, you agree that:

You own all rights to the images.

You take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals.

The images are your own work.

While human-controlled digital editing is entirely acceptable, the use of artificial intelligence is prohibited.

Cape Fear Living will use selected images to use on social media, promotional materials to and all advertising related to the competition and exhibition.

Should your photograph/s be chosen as part of the Cape Fear Living Photographer of the Year Exhibition, photographers will be required to supply a print at their own cost. We do give specifications of size and material (foam board mounted).

While every effort will be made to prevent damage of the printed photographs upon delivery and while on exhibition, scratches, bends & tears may occur. Cape Fear Living and End of Days Distillery will not be held responsible for any damage, theft or loss.

Delivery to End of Days Distillery and pick up after the exhibition are the responsibility of the photographer.
