SZECHUAN 132 CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR

Wilmington’s own Szechuan 132 celebrated Chinese New Year with a wonderful community-oriented party and buffet this past Tuesday.

Chinese New Year is a Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. Chinese New Year’s Day is an occasion for families to gather for dinner to celebrate family, friendship and tradition. Every year, Szechuan 132 does just that.

Each year, the restaurant’s owner, Joseph H Hou, takes the time to host a dinner party to thank the people who he feels helped the restaurant get where it is today. He also takes the time to thank those who make an impact on our community. This year, he gave a special shout out to Cindy Hall, Lenny Simpson and Wilmington Police Chief, Ralph Evangelous.”This is what Chinese New Year is all about, celebrating life and thanking those who make it better,” says Hou.

Wilmington Chinese Restaurant, Szechuan 132, was founded by Hou, in 1988. During a visit to Wilmington, Joseph fell in love with the local “collard green & grits” way of life and decided this was the place to raise his children and to prepare them to lead meaningful lives. He has never looked back, nor regretted his decision.

This year, Joseph and his wife, Sally, celebrated the 30 year anniversary of Szechuan 132. “We could never have achieved this without the love, dedication and passion of our family and friends, who helped create so many cherished and unforgettable memories,” says Hou.

Congratulations to Szechuan 132 for 30 years of success and we wish you many more to come!

春节快乐
